“I have told you these things so you may have peace in Me. In the world you will have much trouble. But take hope! I have power over the world!” – John 16:33 (NIV)
Stress is something we all deal with daily. Perhaps you are great at managing stress levels. Maybe you feel like you are barely hanging on and just the thought of adding one more task to your to do list sends you into panic mode. Life does not have to be like this. There are ways to help manage your stress levels to help prevent a breakdown.
If you are feeling overwhelmed from the hectic schedule in your day-to-day life, take time to reevaluate your commitments. It is okay to say “no” to new commitments or put things on pause for a much-needed break.
Surround yourself with friends that will help support you during rough seasons of your life. Having a friend to pray with and over you can help tremendously. Seek out a church to attend. If you are already attending a church, perhaps dive deeper by joining a small group. Studying the word of God with fellow Christians can help strengthen the heart of any believer.
Dive into the word and presence of the Lord. If you have not already done so, set aside time weekly for a quiet time. This can be a time where you pray, listen to worship music, or journal. Taking time to clear your head and heart to make time for God will prove beneficial in your battle with stress.
"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you." 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV)
