June 10, 2024 – Nothing Compares to the Value of Jesus
Philippians 3:8
Sermon: 1976 Our Great Savior, Part 1

Pray Over This

“Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ.”
Philippians 3:8

Ponder This

A friend of mine was getting off an airplane one day, and he reached up in the luggage rack, and his hand fell on a stack of paper. Everybody else had gotten off the plane. So, he reached in and pulled it down. It was a stack of $100 bills. He put his hand up there again. There was another stack of bills. The total was over $20,000 dollars in cash. No identification, just a rubber band.

He went to the pilot and said, “I have found a substantial amount of money on this airplane. What should I do?” The pilot directed him to the proper office. He was there in the office filling out the forms, and a man came in. The man was straggly, unkempt, rude, and looking for the money. He described the money, and it was obviously his.

As my friend drove away, he started to hear the enemy say, “You are a fool. Don’t you know that’s probably drug money? Think about all the good you could have done with that money.” And my friend said, “I got to thinking about real wealth, real riches, who Jesus is, how He has saved me, how He keeps me, and what I’m looking forward to.” And he said, “I spoke out loud to the devil, ‘But look what I’ve got!’”

It’s about time we all talked to that devil and said, “Look what I’ve got!” The world has so much to offer, but nothing compares to Jesus. Do you believe that?

  • What are some of the riches you have because of Christ?
  • What would change if you started to see the things of Christ as the most valuable things you have?

Practice This

Encourage another believer in the things you share in Christ.
