Is Your ‘Go’ Broken?
August 2
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20
A little girl was playing with her wind-up toy animal one day when it stopped working. She wasn’t proficient with her vocabulary yet, so she took the toy to her mom and said, “Mommy, I think its go is broken.”
I think that’s an appropriate diagnosis for many in the church today. Their “go” is broken. They have the command from Jesus to “Go and make disciples,” yet, for the sake of comfort, convenience, or some other excuse, they stay put and never even cross the street for the sake of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
But the Lord’s commission stands as unwavering and uncompromising today as it did when He uttered those words 2,000 years ago. That means our mission is the same: to go and make disciples. Obedience to this command is one of the most important parts of the Christian life!
It’s the love of Christ that compels us to follow the Great Commission and to go share Christ with others. So don’t live life with your “go” broken. Whether you cross the street or the globe, go and share Jesus with those who don’t know Him!
GO AND SHARE CHRIST WITH OTHERS WHO DON’T KNOW HIM, WHEREVER IT TAKES YOU.
